About Us
In November 2007, after the loss of a young transgendered person
in West Michigan, Project Light started as an idea for an education
forum
on LBGT mental health. Working in the community we organized and
hosted a Forum to discuss the needs of LBGT youth’s mental
health. In January 2008, it was proposed and accepted in March
2008 as a program of the Kalamazoo Gay/Lesbian Resource Center.
The services of Project Light are entirely carried out by the work of community
volunteers.
